Bla bla bla detox bla bla bla smoothies juices bla bla bla healthy. I'm out.

I'm not really one of those people that do detoxes. I feed my body well. I sometimes go a bit crazy on sugary things, but I don't do it every day? It's okay to treat your tastebuds once in a while...errrr...often. Very often. Seriously, I'd rather eat chocolate for a week and gain a shitload of weight, than do another detox. I've done way too many of those in the past few year. I believe in a balanced diet and a daily exercise routine.

If you're rolling your eyes on me right now and thinking I'm an idiot, first - you're wrong, second - you're wrong again. BALANCE. YOGA. I DON'T KNOW? God, I watch The Ellen show way too much. Sorry for that...

I have a super weird love hate love relationship with smoothies and juices. Either I'll go crazy about them and have them every day, or I won't be able to look at them. I'm trying to get rid of that by making various different flavours of smoothies, yet it still never works. Do you have a technique for not being grossed out on smoothies for 6 months? If you do, pLEASE LET ME KNOW.

No matter how fruity I want my smoothie, I'll try to hide in at least some vegetables. Spinach and carrots are my favourites, but kale will do too. I'll sometimes add cooked quinoa for an extra kick of protein. Weird, I know.

Pear, ginger & oat green smoothie


1/4 cup oats, soaked overnight
1/8 cup walnuts, soaked overnight
2 medjol dates, soaked overnight*

2 handfuls of spinach
2 ripe pears
1 lime, juiced and zested
3/4 cup oat milk
a pinch of cinnamon
a small knob on ginger

*you could use 2 tbsp of your favourite sweetener here or 1 banana

Zeleni smoothie s hruško, ingverjem in ovsenimi kosmiči

1/8 skodelice orehov, namočenih čez noč
1/4 skodelice ovsenih kosmičev, namočenih čez noč
2 medjol datlja, namočena čez noč

2 pesti špinače
2 zreli hruški
sok in lupinica ene limete
3/4 skodelice ovsenega mleka
za pol palca velik košček ingverja
ščep cimeta


Berry, almond butter & spinach smoothie

1 cup berries (I used raspberries and blueberries)
1 banana
a big handful of spinach
1 tbsp almond butter (or peanut butter)
1/2 orange, juiced
1/4 lime, juiced
1/2 cup oat milk
optional : 1 tbsp chia seeds

Zeleni smoothie s špinačo, jagodičevjem in mandljevim maslom

1 skodelica jagodičevja (jaz sem uporabil maline in borovnice)
1 banana
velika pest špinače
1 žlica mandljevega masla
sok 1/2 pomaranče
sok 1/2 limone
1/2 skodelice ovsenega mleka
po želji : žlica chia semen


Tropical orange smoothie (personal fave)

1/4 cup cashews, soaked overnight
1 orange, juiced
1 grapefruit, juiced
2 limes, juiced
1 lemon, juiced
1 clementine, juiced
2 large carrots
1/4 pineapple
1 mango
3 passionfruit
1 banana
optional : 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1/2 avocado, 1 tbsp lucuma powder, 1 tbsp baobab powder

Tropsko oranžni smoothie (najljubši)

1/4 skodelice indijskih oreščkov, namočenih čez noč
1 pomaranča, sok
1 grenivka, sok
2 limeti, sok
1 limoni, sok
1 klementina, sok
2 velika korenčka
1/4 ananasa
1 mango
3 pasijonke
1 banana
optional : 1 žlica chia semen, 1 žlica lucume, 1 žlica baobaba, 1/2 avokada


Vegan mango & lime lassi 

1 mango
1/2 cup vegan yogurt (I used homemade coconut)
juice of one lime
coconut milk, to thin out (2-4 tablespoons)

Veganski lassi z mangom & limeto

1 mango
1/2 skodelice veganskega jogurta (jaz sem uporabil kokosovega)
sok ene limete
kokosovo mleko (2-4 žlice)


Almost raw pineapple & lime ice cream

1/2 ripe pineapple, cubbed
1 1/4 cup cashews, soaked overnight
1 cup dates, soaked overnight
1 cup water OR coconut milk
1/4 cup vodka (or water)
juice of a lime + zest of two limes

Blend all of the ingredients until the cream riches a superfine texture (NO LUMPS DUDES), than pour it into a glass bowl and put into the freezer. Mix every 30 minutes for the next 4 hours and then freeze overnight. I like to put mine in the microwave before scooping it, since I have no patience to wait for 20 minutes. But you could totally wait for that.

If you have an ice cream maker, by all means use it for this.

Skoraj presni ananasov sladoled z limeto


1/2 zrelega ananasa, nakockanega
1 1/4 skodelice indijskih oreškov, namočenih čez noč
1 skodelica datljev, namočenih čez noč
1 skodelica vode ALI kokosovega mleka
1/4 skodelice vodke (ali več vode)
sok ene limete + lupina dveh

    Se boljse zveni oz. se bere v slovenscini 😉, saj ne, da ne znam anglesko ampak...

  2. Vitamix for smoothies is absolutely unbeatable! The ease of it, the quality of the result, and the health benefits are all wonderful! I couldnt agree more with your feelings....I wasnt sure owning a Vitamix at home would change my life...but it has. Hope to see more of your beautiful food soon!
